Srinagar, Jan 27 (KNO) : APHC chairman Mirwaiz Umar Farooq strongly condemn the killing of three youth Javed Bhat (20), Raies Ahmad Ganaie and 24 year old Suhail Ahmad Lone in Shopian stating that killings of young boys have become a routine affair of trigger-happy forces in Kashmir. Mirwaiz said that the death dance of occupation continues ! While one understands the black out of this death dance by the propagandist Indian media ,Its shame that the Indian rights activists ,humanists and civil society members have turned deaf dumb and blind to the butchering of young Kashmiris and the world human rights watchdogs callously watch on , doing nothing. Mirwaiz said that every alternate day there is a killing of young boys and forces feel proud in emptying their cartridges on the unarmed and innocent civilians. Mirwaiz expressed his grief and shock over the killing of the youth besides extending solidarity and sympathies to the bereaved families. Mirwaiz also prayed to Almighty to help the bereaved families to bear this loss. He said the people of Kashmir strongly protest this barbarity unleashed upon them by the Indian state and the silence of world community and on the call of JRL Kashmir will observe a complete strike on 28 Jan against this mayhem. Paying rich tributes to the martyrs of Kupwara massacre on their 24th martyrdom anniversary, APHC chairman Mirwaiz Umar Farooq said that the martyrs of Kashmir have offered priceless sacrifices for a sacred and great cause and the on-going movement will continue till their mission is realised. In a statement issued here, Mirwaiz said 24 years ago, the Kupwara villages were turned red with the blood of 27 innocent and unarmed people by trigger happy forces and the massacre continues to remain as a blot on the face of India’s democracy. Miwaiz said that over the past three decades, countless massacres like the one seen in Kupwara 24 years ago, became the routine affair of forces in Kashmir where in innocent Kashmiris, including elderly, children, youth and women were brutally killed and maimed. He said irony is that the forces personnel involve in the gruesome killings of Kashmiris continue to remain scot free. Miwaiz said that all the probes and inquiries ordered by the respective regimes and officials but all proved a mere eye wash and time buying tactics. He said not a single probe reached its conclusion let alone punishment to the guilty. Mirwaiz said over the past seven decades, the people of Kashmir are fighting for their basic and birth right, the right to self-determination despite facing enormous atrocities that include state terrorism, killings, harassment and maiming of people especially youth. Mirwaiz said that it is high time that the Government of India shuns its rigid and stubborn approach and accept the ground realities and start a sustained dialogue process by involving all the stakeholders and try to resolve the vexed Kashmir issue as per the wishes and aspirations of people of Kashmir without wasting more time. He said the resolution of Kashmir issue will ensure peace in the sub-continent besides save the loss of human lives on the both sides of LoC and property worth billions. Meanwhile, Mirwaiz prayed for the speedy recovery of two young girls, Sumera and Saima who were fired upoun by forces at Shopian recently and are battling for their lives at SKIMS Soura.(KNO)
